Fireflies Adventure at Kuala Selangor

fireflies adventure at kuala selangor

This tour is great for nature lovers and those who enjoy taking in the sights of Malaysian countryside. Kuala Selangor is known for its large colonies of fireflies and seafood. A slow boat ride on the Selangor River allows you to catch sight of millions of fireflies flashing in synchrony on the branches of Berembang trees that line the riverbanks. Our tour traverses the picturesque countryside. Be awed by the sight of rustic villages, neat plantations of rubber trees and oil palm. At Kuala Selangor, a small coastal town, visit the historic Melawati Hill, which is the highest point that offers a panoramic view of the mangrove forest below and of the Straits of Malacca. Also view the royal mausoleum and the old Althingsburg lighthouse, built by the British in 1907. Catch sight of the monkeys that wander about freely.
